The Importance of Having Company Wellness Fairs

Last year I was invited by a company that works with other businesses by organizing their wellness fairs. I had to turn it down due to the lack of funding in microbusiness. Even at $100 dollars per booth, the fee was too much for me at the time.

This year, however, Health Dimensions reached out to me again and asked if I would like to participate in a couple of company wellness fairs scheduled in late March. What was even better was that there was no booth fee. I just had to donate a raffle prize for the employees which I was happy to do.

Nicole at Health Dimensions was wonderful to work with as each event approached its date. Her coworkers were extremely helpful organizing and taking care of us vendors with snacks and water. I was impressed!

For the company fair, I created a number of care and sampler packages which was an idea that a tourist had given me down in La Jolla. I made several samples of my products so that customers could try out my products at a decent price. For tourists they often worried about being able to bring something on the plane when heading back home. My sample packages were perfect in size for them to purchase without any worry.

The first company wellness I ever went to was at HM Electronics, a company that built hardware and software. I was able to talk to a number of employees who were sautering the chip boards together, others who were electrical engineers, and still others who were in the marketing department.

The second company was a family-owned small business that apparently is growing in size. Olli Salumeria packages various meats and cheeses. Their employees were mostly Spanish speaking. I've been wanting to pick up learning Spanish again so this event pushed the task further up as a priority for me.

Everyone was kind and interested in my products but not too willing to buy any products. I donated my sampler package and told them that if they won the raffle prize, they would be able to try out my products.

Health Dimensions staff were on board helping each vendor out with their canopy tents and tables. They again offered water and snacks for the vendors which was really sweet. I'm looking forward to working with them in the future.
