Self-Care is Engaging in Wellness

Happy Spring Equniox 2025!
Happy Spring Equniox 2025!

One of the topics I always talk about to my clients is self-care. They immediately say that they're not narcissistic. Self-care has nothing to do with being a narcissist. It's about caring for your Self so that you can be well within yourself and for others. It's balancing out the giving with the taking and that in itself is a wellness journey.

So here I am preaching but not doing it myself. In the month of March I hit a low point, and a lot had to do with family issues. My teen was diagnosed with ADHD and before getting the diagnosis -- something I've been trying to do for the past 4 years, life escalated to very stressful levels. I found myself in an emotional and mental state feeling sick to my stomach due to the amount of stress.

In March I took a hiatus to deal with my teen and my Self by taking it day-by-day and at times when it was needed moment-by-moment. She's in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) now for almost a month, and just as important -- there's a parent support group. Hearing the stories of other parents makes me feel less isolated. It has given me better coping techniques.

With the Spring Equinox bringing in the blossoming flowers and unfurling green leaves I feel I can go back to my farmers' markets and pop-up events. I've already lined up a few pop-ups in San Diego County in the next couple of months. So look for my social media posts.

Again and as always, I want to thank the clients who have purchased products from my little microbusiness. I can't thank you enough. I really do appreciate it.
